Families are part of a successful education program.
Here are some ways you can support your child:
  • Celebrate your child's successes!  Your child will make a lot of growth this year. This will keep your child enthusiastic about learning and proud of their work!

  • Look through your child's Take-Home Folder every night. There will be important notes, completed work, and most importantly, homework. Assist your child with their homework by reading directions, gathering necessary materials, and checking for quality.   Remember to stay positive and be patient, they will be learning a lot of new skills that take time and practice to develop.
  • Read to and with your child every day and talk about the book.  The more your children are exposed to language, the easier it will be for them to incorporate new skills in reading and writing in the classroom.

  • Turn off the TV!  The recommended amount of electronic media (TV, video games, and movies) for 6-7 year olds is no more than two hours of quality and age appropriate programming a day according to many research articles (kidshealth.org).

Together we will be successful!
