Students have access to graphing calculators in the classroom but they can't bring them home.  However, you can use a virtual calculator at home on the computer!  To install a virtual version of the TI-83 or TI- 73 graphing calculator on your home computer, please follow these basic steps...

  1. Go To The Following Website: http://education.ti.com/educationportal/downloadcenter/SoftwareDetail.do?website=US&appId=177
  2. Click the "TI-83 Plus SDK" Link
  3. Click the RUN button on the pop-up window.
  4. If you see an Internet Explorer Security Warning, click RUN.
  5. Click the Continue Button
  6. Click the Yes Button on the License Agreement Box
  7. Click the Next button to begin setup
  8. Click the Next button to install in the specified folder
  9. Click the Next button to add the application to the program group
  10. Click the Next button to start copying files
  11. Click the Finish button to complete setup
  12. Your computer must be restarted in order to complete the setup of this program.  At this time you can click the OK button to restart your computer.  You may also click Cancel to restart your computer at a later time.  The calculator application will NOT work properly until you restart your computer!
  13. Once you have restarted your computer....
    TI-83 Plus Flash debugger will show up as an icon on your desktop
  14. Double click on the icon
  15. Click File
  16. Click New
  17. Choose the calculator you want (TI 73 or TI-83)
  18. Click on Debug (at the top) and choose GO
  19. The calculator will show up and it is ready to use.
