| I am the Social Studies Department Chair at South Kitsap High School. The Department continues to work diligently to prepare students for the latest Classroom Based Assessments as established by OSPI. Additionally, we take pride in preparing students to become active participants in their community. Aside from Department Chair, I am the AP Government teacher and one of three Government teachers. I am also the adviser for Habitat for Humanity, Interact, and Youth Court. I am currently working on my principal credentials at Seattle Pacific University. I am a National Board Certified Teacher in Social Studies, have a Masters in Teaching from the University of Puget Sound, and a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies from the University of Washington. Prior to teaching I worked as a Paralegal for the Washington State Attorney General's Office where I was afforded many opportunities in understanding Consumer Protection and Antitrust Law. On a personal note, my husband, my daughter, and I are all alum of South Kitsap High School and are local community members that take pride in the successes of our district. There are a lot of opportunities offer for students and their families throughout the district, the more involved you are, the more enjoyable the educational experience.
