Advanced Placement Biology

Welcome to the A. P. Biology website.  The curriculum for this course is designed to be equivalent to a one-year college biology course for science majors.  Taking A. P. Biology offers several benefits to students:
  • Provides a challenging curriculum to motivated high school students
  • Students gain college credit prior to entering college (saves money and you enter with advanced standing)
  • Improves admission chances for select colleges
  • Provides a glimpse of college-level expectations
There is no prerequisite for A. P. Biology but one year of chemistry is recommended as is prior success in science and math.  Signing up for A. P. Biology is by application only available from your guidance counselor.

Biology Exams from 1961 to 1995.  Many have the standards that are the criteria used in grading the answers.  It is helpful for you to see the many  ways that can score points in your answer.  It also contains helpful information for preparing for the exam in May.

This website is actually intended for professional development for biology teachers but the videos are current, relevent, and presented at a depth that is appropriate for what we've been learning in class.  You have to register but it's free.
