This course is designed to prepare students for careers in marketing, merchandising, management, and enterprises as well as other marketing careers.  The class will offer students the skills needed to enter and advance in a marketing-related career, build the base needed to someday own and operate their own business and/or provide the marketing and philosophy background needed to pursue any college degree.  To fulfill the leadership component, students will participate in DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America), an association of marketing. In this club, students attend leadership and career conferences, participate in community service and activities and fundraisers, attend social activities, and participate in area, state, and national competitions related to sales and marketing occupational areas. May be taken for one credit for course and for credit for work experience. Work-based learning credit may be earned through this course. See instructor for more information.
