Dear Parent or Guardian,

I am excited that your child has elected to enroll in the marketing program here at South Kitsap HS. Our program is structured on the National Marketing Education curriculum framework and encompasses mastery-learning and outcome-based education. Marketing education is designed to prepare students for college and careers in marketing and management, in the business world. A student enrolled in Marketing Education, may elect to participate in the Marketing Work-Based Learning Program, for additional graduation credit.

Marketing Education students are eligible to become members of DECA, a leadership organization of Marketing Education students, which is affiliated with Washington State and National DECA. The organization is highly recommended by the administration of this school, as well as the State of Washington Department of Education. The purpose of DECA is to help develop student leadership qualities as well as a sense of responsibility to school and community. State and National dues are $18.00 annually, if this becomes a problem for the student, please contact me at 360- 874- 5676 or by E-mail at Phillips@skitsap.wednet.edu.

Following will be a packet concerning the Marketing Education Program – syllabus by trimester, grading system, classroom rules, written assignments, my expectations, etc.

I want to take this time to thank you for allowing me the privilege of teaching your child the basics of Business Marketing and serving as the coordinator with our DECA chapter.
