The No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act has focused unprecedented national attention on the importance of ensuring adequate academic progress by all students. The NCLB Act explicitly recognizes that one of the key requirements for achieving this goal is that all teachers be adequately qualified.

WEST (Washington Educator Skills Tests) website - This is where you will find up-to-date registration and testing information for the WEST-B (basic) and WEST-E (endorsement), test preparation materials, and services that enable you to register and obtain your unofficial test results online.
Based upon the work and recommendations of the Professional Educator Standards Board, the State Board of Education adopted two new pathways to adding endorsements to teaching certificates. The newly created pathways are "endorsement dependent" meaning that whether these options apply depends upon the endorsement that the teacher currently holds. WAC 181-82A-204.
