Employee Benefits & Salary Information | ||||
As an employee of the South Kitsap School District, you may be eligible for benefits which include medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance coverage. In addition, you may participate in a flexible benefits plan and other optional benefits (i.e., short term disability, additional life, and cancer insurance). You are also covered by the District's self-funded workers' compensation program. The District provides a contribution based on your FTE (hours worked) to help defray the cost of the mandatory plans and medical coverage you elect for yourself and your dependents. The mandatory benefits are only offered to regular employees working 17-1/2 hours per week. (Substitute and temporary employees are not eligible.) For inquires, contact 360-874-7025. OPEN ENROLLMENT - September 1-September 14 During the open enrollment period you may add, delete, or change your insurance coverage September 1st through October 10th of each school year.
The benefit booklet is available to view in each building and in Payroll at the District Office. Please complete the enrollment forms carefully. When enrolling in a medical plan, list only those dependents that you wish to cover. Dental is a group plan, therefore, list all dependents for coverage. Vision is a group plan and covers all eligible dependents, but does not require an enrollment form. Our District offers a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) program. The program enables you to set aside money on a pre-tax basis to pay for health and daycare costs. Completed enrollment forms must be returned to payroll by September 30th. The links provided are a summary of the master contracts which are available for your inspection at the District Office. In the event of any discrepancies with other materials, the master contracts control. Also, the District reserves the right to change carriers and administrators, as well as benefits. Before any such changes would be made, the bargaining units will be consulted. |
