Student Led Conferences

At John Sedgwick, all grade levels conduct student-led conferences. It is our belief that lifelong learners are actively involved in their own education. This means that students set goals, make plans, evaluate their performances, and start preparing for their futures. For these conferences, students have created portfolios which contain transcripts, representative work from their classes, career assessments, and goals they have set for themselves. Students will conduct this part of the conference, sharing what they have learned, detailing their goals, and discussing the progress being made.

2013 Spring Student Led Conferences

Our conferences will again be scheduled online in an easy-to-use program. Please follow the directions below to schedule your conference.

At the beginning of your appointment hour, please be sure to check-in at the counseling table in the Commons. After check-in you and your student will begin the conference session with his or her homeroom advisor. At this time your student will share his or her portfolio with you. This should take approximately ten to fifteen minutes. The remainder of your conference hour has been set aside for you and your student to visit teachers in their classrooms.
