South Kitsap High School is rich with tradition both in the classroom and on the playing surface. Our halls overflow with students and staff that are committed to enhance each others lives through hard work and dedication.
On behalf of our staff and students I want to welcome each of you to what we believe is a wonderful place to be and another exciting year at SKHS. We would also like to invite and welcome you to our school, as we, the South Kitsap School Community, know our success is truly a collaborative effort. This collaborative effort and partnership is essential as we embark on our mission to assist all students in their learning.
Throughout the course of a student’s high school experience, they will have a variety opportunities to experience and participate in a multitude of outstanding academic offerings. South Kitsap offers a wide range of courses to peak the interest and enhance every student’s abilities. All courses employ rigorous standards, dedicated staff members and provide our students the chance to excel. Courses are divided into five pathways; Arts & Communication, Business & Marketing, Engineering & Technology, Health & Human Services, and Science & Natural Resources. For the student wishing a more challenging curriculum, we offer College Prep courses, AP (Advanced Placement) classes in English, Math (Statistics & Calculus), Science (Chemistry), Social Studies (U.S History, Government, and Economics) and College in the High School courses in Spanish & Pre Calculus.
Students also have the opportunity to enrich their education through courses in Music, Theatre, Water safety/Life Guarding, Athletic Medicine, Marine Biology, Aquaculture, Landscaping, Video Production (including our own news broadcast), Auto Mechanics, Wood & Construction, NJROTC and Early Childhood Education (Wee Wolves – Pre School).
Our students have the opportunity to enhance their daily lives and the lives of others through various clubs, activities and athletics. Students can participate or be an active member in such activities as ASB, DECA, FBPA, FCCLA, FFA, Key Club, Lifesavers, SADD/TATU, VICA and/or Yearbook to list a few. Each of the activities and or clubs is available to all of our students and provides them an avenue to be successful.
As you can see, South Kitsap High School IS a wonderful place to be and with your help it will continue to be a wonderful place.
