Just a bit about me....
This is my fifth year at Discovery. Prior to coming here, I took a year off from education to revsit my core eduction in business and marketing. I worked for a year in marketing for a national corporation. Prior to that, I worked 10 years at South Kitsap High School in the businss and information technology area. Before returning to SKHS, I worked for Clover Park, Kirkland and Peninsula School Districts. It's good to be back!
At Discovery, I provide opportunities for students to connect their school experience to their real world work experience and allow them the opportunity to earn school elective credit for their work hours. I also manage the on-campus espresso business--ensuring that staff and students may enjoy a hot latte'. Learning using technology is thriving at Discovery. With the combined efforts of Career and Technical Education, Basic Education, Port Orchard Rotary and the Public Education Foundation, we have a Community Learning Center that currently supports Discovery students and Distance Learning Students. My school time is split between the Discovery program and the Distance Learning Program.
