Children must be the age of five by August 31 of any given year to enroll in kindergarten. Parents need to bring in a proof of birth and up-to-date immunization records. Parents are asked to call their neighborhood elementary school for more information.
If your child turns five between September 1 and September 15 of any given year, South Kitsap School District offers Early Entrance Kindergarten testing. If your child meets the criteria and you are interested in having your child tested, please call 360-874-7054 for more information.
South Kitsap School District is the second largest school district in Kitsap County. Ten elementary schools (K-6), three junior highs (7-9), a comprehensive high school (10-12), a school of choice, and an alternative high school program make up South Kitsap School District. With an enrollment of just over 9,000, the student population is representative of the community’s growing multi-cultural diversity.
In addition to the district’s comprehensive K-12 curriculum, special programs like Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP), special education, and English as a Second Language (ESL), are available to students to ensure maximum personal development in academic, vocational and extracurricular activities.
