As a member of the South Colby Family, you are already a member of the PTSO! We do not have membership forms or charge dues, we just work together and do all we can for the staff and students at South Colby!
Here are some of the ways the PTSO supports our school:
Curriculum Support through additional textbooks and science kit supplies
Technology Specialist – this position is fully funded by PTSO
Art Instructors – the PTSO fully funds two art instructors for our school
Computer lab – all computers purchased entirely by PTSO funding
Smartboards, digital cameras, netbooks and other classroom technology
Back to School celebration & Kindergarten “Tissues & Treats” welcome for Parents
Movie Nights Playground equipment Teacher supplies
Assemblies Staff Appreciation Musical instruments
Art nights Family fun nights Free Popcorn on special days
Kindergarten pumpkins and 100 day supplies
We support these programs and many more through a number of fundraisers. Our primary funding comes from two events. Our annual Friends of South Colby Giving Drive, beginning in late September and our family friendly PTSO Auction held the first Saturday in March. We also have a fun night raising money during our McTakeover, also held in the Spring.
Our funding is also supplemented by our participation in other programs including Box Tops for Education, Cartridges for Kids, My Coke Rewards for Schools, Campbell's Soup Labels and additional smaller opportunities.
But more importantly, we support these programs and events with our time. Parents like you help make each and every one of these events possible! Each day there's someone who smiles when they have the benefit of our fabulous school and the prints we all leave.
