Seahawks & Macomber Team Up With School District

Seahawks and Macomber Team Up to Support South Kitsap Students

Debbie Macomber (celebrated local author), the Seattle Seahawks, and the South Kitsap School District have created a partnership focusing on our shared beliefs:

  • All kids are capable of success…no exceptions;
  • Success for all takes a team effort;
  • Happy, hopeful and “whole” children have “treasure hunters” or a “12th Man” in their lives encouraging them, cheering for them and serving as their “biggest fan.”

Over the past four months all three organizations have been working together to formulate a working partnership to help students visualize their future and take personal ownership on reaching their goals.  As a kick-off to this powerful enterprise, Macomber and members of the Seattle Seahawks will present assemblies at each of the three junior high school in the school district June 18. The theme of these presentations will be to encourage students to use the summer break as their “off season” and utilize that time to train and prepare to reach their goals. The Seahawks organization, using Pete Carroll’s “Win Forever” philosophy and Debbie Macomber’s “Always believe in the power of your dreams” admonition, align perfectly with SKSD’s Declarations of Interdependence.
