SKSD’s Biggest Event is Seeking Donations and Volunteers

On Saturday, August 18, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. SKSD will hold its eighth annual Back to School Celebration for all SKSD students and their families at the South Kitsap High School track and field.

The event is largely funded by generous donations from the district’s community partnerships. All school supplies, food and give-away items are free to families.

The district’s goal is to continue to make this community event a fun way to start the year and is seeking donations and volunteers from local businesses, community groups, and individuals to make this event a success. From event set up to break down, over 120 volunteers come out every year to make this day special for all.

The following items are currently being accepted:

  • School Supplies: backpacks, pens, pencils, crayons, markers, scissors, colored pencils, paper, erasers, rulers, spiral notebooks, composition books, glue sticks, and folders.
  • Food Items: hot dogs, buns, condiments, bottled water, popcorn/oil/seasoning, ice pops
  • Other: any cash donations will be used to purchase items above. Give Away items or coupons are also accepted.

Want to Volunteer? Please contact Annette Stewart at stewartg@skitsap.wednet.edu
