Your children have been working so hard in the mornings. We squeezed cursive "tow truck" connectors in today. These are the connections between letters like o-l in gold, w-l in bowl, o-f in off...etc. We then finished talking about literary elements and read a fun story about a presidential gift of cheese. The literary elements packet came home for you to look at today if you'd like. We then talked about similes and metaphors. We giggled as we read examples and shared some of our own. Last, we reviewed some testing items online for our upcoming MSP test on Tuesday for reading. Your children are prepared and ready to rock on the test.
We started learning the traditional and partial product method of solving multi-digit multiplication. They don't need to do this on their homework yet...it will be coming next week. Here is how you solve a problem using partial products.

We ended the day drawing similes to hang out in the hallway. We needed two adult hands for science so the lesson will need to wait until tomorrow.
Have a wonderful night and enjoy the sun while it is here. Please remember to join us for Mullenix in Motion, tomorrow from 4:30 - 6:30 with a hot dog BBQ afterwards. I'll be on the field giving tally marks for laps. I love this job. See you then!
