Dance Team Tryouts

All 7th and 8th grade students interested in joining dance team, there will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, April 30th in Ms. Knight's room from 2:50-3:30. Tryout routines will be taught at 6:15 am on May 20 and 21 with tryouts happening on May 22 after school.

Sixth Grade Parent Night

Parents of sixth graders, please join us for Parent Night 6-7 p.m. on May 22. You'll be able to meet with staff to review Family Access, ASB Activities, Student Handbook/Make Your Day Program, PAC (Parent Advisory Council) and volunteer programs. There will be a second parent night from 6-7 p.m. on May 23rd for South Colby parents and all other parents who were unable to attend on May 22.

Sixth Grade Visits to Sedgwick

 
All sixth graders will get an opportunity from the elementary schools that link to Sedgwick to tour the school, meet staff, eat lunch and look briefly at a few classes in session. Parent permission forms will be sent to your elementary school with more information. Visit dates:
  • Manchester May 31st, 11:30 a.m.
  • Mullenix Ridge June 3rd, 11:30 a.m.
  • South Colby June 7th, 11:30 a.m.
  • Olalla June 10th, 11:30 a.m.

Any sixth grade students who are open enrolled or new to our area and wish to visit Sedgwick may do so on the visit dates listed above. Please call 874-6090 to confirm your visit.

Ninth Grade End of Year Activities

  • The Ninth Grade Only Dance, "Enchantment", will be on Fri., June 7 from 5-7 pm. Students must be suspension and fine free since April 26th and present I.D. to purchase a ticket during lunches beginning Tues., May 28. Tickets are $8 with ASB card, $10 without ASB card and $12 the day of the dance. Packets for pictures are available at the student store and dress is casual to semi-formal.
  • Ninth Grade Assembly and Talent Show will be Wed., June 12. Sign-up sheets to audition are in the Main Office.
  • Ninth Grade Day at Wild Waves will be Thurs., June 13. Students will be served breakfast in the commons at 8:30 am and depart on the school bus at 9:30 am. Tickets will go on sale beginning April 25 and are $25. All permission slips must be turned in and tickets purchased by 1:18 pm, Tues., May 21, no exceptions and no refunds.

Plan on joining us for the best music of the year on Thursday, June 6 at 6 pm in our commons as the Generals' Own, Jazz in General, Intermediate Band, Generals' Choir and Seventh Grade Choir bring the entertainment.

Second Semester PE Makeup Days
If your student has missed a day in PE or might be going on vacation and wants to make up a day ahead of time, they can do it on Fridays during advisory period from 8:15 to 8:35 or on the following days after school. After school PE makeup days run from 2:50 - 3:30 pm.

Don't Forget To Buy A Yearbook!

The yearbook is on sale now for $35.00. You can purchase them at the student store, or via the online store. Students who purchase a yearbook before June 5, will get them early. All others will have to wait until June 10. There are only 270 yearbooks left, so if you want one, don't wait!

    Report cards will be posted by Friday, May 17. Check out your student's progress on Family Access.
     
    Buy Your Wild Waves TicketsIf your ninth grader is planning on going to the Wild Waves end of year trip, they need to purchase tickets and turn in their permission slips now. Tickets will only be on sale until, 1:18 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21. Tickets are $25 and there will be no late ticket sales and no refunds.
     
    Get Your Yearbook
    Buy your yearbook early and get it before everyone else! Yearbooks will be handed out early to students who have prepurchased their yearbook.
