5/6th grade Parent Night

The purpose of this evening is to
acquaint next year’s parents and
guardians with our school, academic
program, procedures, and staff.
Elementary Visits by Counselors
Marcus counselors will introduce themselves to students, briefly outline some differences between elementary and junior high, and alleviate some anxieties and answer questions.
East Port Orchard May 19 (1:45-3:00pm)

Registration information will be passed during this visit. Registrations will be due to 6th Grade Teachers by May 28. Late

East Port Orchard June 2 (1:15-2:15pm)
All sixth graders will be bussed to Marcus where they will tour the school with student leaders, meet with administrators and staff, and visit some classes in session.

Have your student take a refresher course in the rules regarding cell phones, ipods, and calling home.
If your student needs to go home
sick please remind them not to use
their phone but to use the phone
in the health room.

Your son or daughter will be receiving an information letter and permission slip the week of April 12 regarding Wild Waves and the Freshman Dance.
Please be on the lookout for the information as the permission slip and money for Wild Waves is due NO LATER THAN May 15th .

Dress Code Policy at Marcus Whitman
Please take a moment to review our dress code policy. Students whose clothing does not comply with dress code will be asked to change clothes or will be sent home. Failure to comply will result in further discipline. Administrators reserve the right to deem attire inappropriate to preserve the health, safety, and welfare of the school environment.

3:00 to 3:45.
Why College Bound?
8th Graders Forms Need to be Submitted by June 30, 2015!
Is it not just for college – this is a scholarship that will pay for any educational or training costs that our students on free/reduced lunch may need after graduation.
For example – to be a mechanic or nursing assistant, training is required. Having this College Bound promise will pay for the training or education that your son or daughter would need to begin in the workplace. There is a list of technical and training programs, as well as colleges, available. For more info, check out the College Bound website.

Apple Health for Kids is a Washington State Initiative aimed at streamlining applications for children's healthcare coverage. Many Washington children are still uncovered, even though they are eligible. Click on the link below for more information.
Marcus Whitman P.E. Uniforms are a required part of the class. Students will no longer be able to wear "unofficial" sports wear. This is a security issue and we appreciate your understanding and compliance.
