Welcome to Explorer Academy
South Kitsap's Online Alternative for all grades.
Explorer Academy is a kindergarten through 12th grade parent-partner program. Students receive most of their instruction at home from a parent-partner using SKSD provided materials. As a public school, there are no additional fees.

Families receive face-to-face guidance and support from one of our Consulting Teachers. Explorer Academy offers a variety of on-campus classes in Math, English, Science, Physical Education, and Art.

Elementary students use a high-quality online curriculum designed by the K12 company. Click here for detailed information.

Junior high students enroll in a combination of our Advanced Academics online curriculum and on-campus courses.  Many also enroll in a course or two at their neighborhood junior high school.

High school students can choose our Advanced Academics online curriculum, textbook-based curriculum, on-campus courses or a combination. Many Explorer Academy students enroll in a class or two at SKHS. Others earn elective credit through West Sound Tech in Bremerton. Still other students take classes at Olympic College through the Running Start program.
