More about our school...
Our school focuses on the "whole child" giving specific attention to the academic, physical and social needs of each student. Late start Wednesday collaboration enables teachers and specialists to review assessment data and plan for the needs of individual students through programs such as "Walk to Math" and Reading Skill instructional blocks. We look to meet learners' needs across the spectrum form high achievers to those who need extra help. We are currently building the approach called "The Leader in Me" into our school culture. This approach utilizes the concepts from Stephen Covey's The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by introducing timeless principles to all members of the Sidney Glen Community...adults included! Please click on this link to get more information or call our school to chat with Mr. Shdo. http://www.theleaderinme.org/

Sidney Glen Elementary offers a variety of after school and extra curricular activities for students including, the Boys & Girls Club; the school play; intramural basketball; choir; band; Safety Patrol; Junior Librarians; Mid-day Kindergarten and wonderful family evening events such as Turn Off the TV Week.

Our PTA supports monthly Family Fun Events, a school carnival, Dinner with Dad, the annual Grandparents Lunch and many more opportunities for students and their families. We welcome volunteers in our school and in our classrooms and value the many community partnerships we have established.
